Installing the Connector

If you did not obtain this connector from the Simba website, you might need to follow a different installation procedure. For more information, see the Simba OEM ODBC Connectors Installation Guide.

The Simba Athena ODBC Driver is available for macOS as a .dmg file named Simba Athena 1.2.dmg. The connector supports both 32- and 64-bit client applications.

To install the Simba Athena ODBC Driver:

  2. Double-click Simba Databricks ODBC.dmg to mount the disk image.
  3. In the installer, click Continue.
  4. On the Software License Agreement screen, click Continue, and when the prompt appears, click Agree if you agree to the terms of the License Agreement.
  5. Optionally, to change the installation location, click Change Install Location, then select the desired location, and then click Continue.
  6. Note:

By default, the connector files are installed in the /Library/simba/athenaodbc directory.

  7. To accept the installation location and begin the installation, click Install.
  8. When the installation completes, click Close.
  9. If you received a license file through email, then copy the license file into the /lib subfolder in the connector installation directory. You must have root privileges when changing the contents of this folder.
