Linux System Requirements

The Simba HBase ODBC Driver has been tested with HBase 0.94, 0.96, and 0.98.

Install the connector on client machines where the application is installed. Each client machine that you install the connector on must meet the following minimum system requirements:

  • One of the following distributions:
    • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 or 15
    • Debian 8 or
    • Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04
  • 50MB of available disk space
  • One of the following ODBC driver managers installed:
    • iODBC 3.52.9 or later
    • unixODBC 2.2.14 or later

To install the connector, you must have root access on the machine.

Important:

To connect to HBase, the connector requires a HBase account that has access to the HBase API, and a developer token from a manager account (MCC). For information about configuring your account and obtaining a developer token, see "Sign Up" in the HBase API documentation: https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/signup.
