Sorting and Data Handling

In Vizlib Gantt, sorting doesn't rearrange dimensions in the Dimension section. Instead, it adjusts event positions based on dimension order. Further sorting details can be explored in Qlik's guide on changing visualization sorting.

For details on data handling, refer to Qlik's documentation on Qlik Sense Chart Property - Data Handling.

This topic contains the following sections:

Sorting

The Vizlib Gantt does not reorder your dimensions within the Dimension section when using the sorting feature of Qlik. Instead, the events within the Vizlib Gantt are adjusted, and their positions change based on how you order your dimensions.

You can learn more about sorting here, Change the sorting of a visualization (link to Qlik).

Additional fine-tuning options that adjust how the sorting is achieved within the extension are seen in Figures 1.2 & 1.3.

Data Handling

Learn more about data handling from the Qlik documentation here: Qlik Sense Chart Property - Data Handling.

Figure 2: Data handling

There is an additional element here, which is Maximum events to render. This determines the number of events that are rendered within the timeline view.

This can be edited to show more or less than 500 events.

  • 500 is the default for any new Vizlib Gantt.

Important: Please acknowledge that this change might affect the chart's performance if you intend to increase the Maximum Number of Events to a value equal to or greater than two thousand (≥ 2,000) events.
