Description

When the customers were using Bar Chart in a big Qlik Mashup and scrolled down to the bottom objects while hovering over the x-axis, the popup was misplaced on the user interface.

After the customers upgraded Vizlib components, the layout was distorted.

You can use the updated Viztips feature in Vizlib Bar Chart. For more information, see Viztips Overview.

Offline version of the Bar Chart was searching for fonts from external sites.

When you used letter "B" to indicate billions in NumberAbbreviation and further exported the chart to PDF or image, "B" was changed into "G".

The edits made to the formula in the Bar Chart were not saved when the user attempted to add the chart to the master items.

Vizlib tooltip on bar chart does not change value when hovering over from bar to bar.

X-Axis popup is not presented on the right level within the Qlik Mashup. X-Axis popup now appears at the correct level within the Qlik Mashup when hovering over objects in the Vizlib Bar Chart.

Improvement to ensure that objects with large amount of data do not cause performance degradation.

Custom Number Abbreviation Issue. When using custom symbols for the number auto formatting, the values symbol would not respect the load script. For example, k = 万 and M = 百万;

Chart is not displayed when at least 1 condition is not met. When using 2 dimensions in the Bar Chart and one of them has an unfulfilled Calculation Condition, then the whole chart wouldn't render, even though one dimension would still be fully calculated. In this release we have resolved this issue.

Unnecessary space between Y-Axis Title and Y-Axis. We improved the Y-Axis Title and Y-Axis by reducing the unnecessary space between them. This change aligns with the behavior in version 3 of the Bar Chart, maintaining visual consistency across both product versions.

Note: This may change the appearance of your Vizlib Bar Charts.

Vizlib Bar Chart Not Loading. Some users were experiencing an error which resulted in the bar chart taking much longer to load or stop rendering.

Very light font color and limit to show fix number of ticks is not working after update. We have improved the readability of our tooltips for the vizlib bar chart.

Viztips not displaying in stacked Bar Chart. We have improved the code of the Viztips to account for stacked bar charts.

The legend title is not centered. There was a problem for some users where they would experience their legend text being uncentred.

Full screen icon can't be disabled. You can now hide the Full screen icon using the BAr Chart's property panel.

Show only top condition missing after update. When upgrading from v3 to v4, the option in the ‘Data downloading’ would be different. We have ensured that this is fixed and remembers your options correctly.

Y-Axis disappeared after update.When you have a small-height Bar Chart on the page, upgrading from v3 to v4 would result in the Y-Axis disappearing. We have added an option to ‘Force show axis’.

Defined color for a master item dimension changed after update. Following consistency with Qlik Sense. The Vizlib Bar Chart prioritises master colors in the same way as Qlik.

Tooltip font faded and not clearly visible. There were some inconsistencies with the tooltip color which we have resolved and improved the clarity and readability of the Tooltip.

Automatic X-Axis padding

This option can be found in Appearance>X-axis>Axis auto padding.

Like the Vizlib Line Chart, you can define Axis padding to assist in displaying X-Axis titles or to provide breathing room to the visualisation sides and Y-Axis

Note: The Bar Chart X-Axis presentation must be set to Vertical and Dimension Labels Position is set to Tilted (otherwise, only slider for Axis padding should be displayed)

Scrollbar update

We have added an option to change the scrollbar for the Vizlib Bar Chart found in Appearance > Presentation > Scrollbar type. We now have the following options:

Mini chart

Presents a mini-cart scrollbar which can be interacted with by scrolling and resizing.

Advanced

You can interact by scrolling and resizing.

Basic

You can only interact by scrolling (This is a fixed with determined by the number of bars you want to show by the 'Set Threshold Limit' property).

Bar Chart doesn't render at random in Story export. Some users were encountering moments when the Vizlib Bar Chart would not render on a Qlik Story export.

Overlap type presentation disappears when enabling Data values for measure. When setting the Data Values to show, the Overlap type presentation in Appearance, it is not available. On setting this to Hide, the Overlap type reappears.

As a result of this, we have improved the description of the field.

Force Legend Display. The legend will be shown based on if Force Show Legend is checked or not. Find this in the Appearance section when you have Color & Legend>Colors set to Custom.

Sorting doesn't work at random when we rearrange the order in the Sorting propertiesSorting doesn't work at random when we rearrange the order in the Sorting properties. When trying to drag and drop / change sort order the changes aren’t reflected on the chart (sort order change).

Replace values with zeros on X-axis. When there is a Negative value, the entire space is filled with zeros.

Extreme spacing applied to multi-line representation of labels on the X-axis.The multi-line label overlaps with one another which resulted in a large spacing requires more space on the dashboard. This has been resolved so you don't need as much space.

Setting the format for positive values doesn't work. Formatting values, i.e. ‘-#,##0.0%', didn't work.

Not displaying bars in Qlik Container. Bar from the Vizlib Bar Chart were not being displayed In the Qlik Container; but the bar chart is working with the Vizlib Container Grid.

Null values are interpreted in a wrong way. Null values were being displayed as a numeric value.

Alternative Dimensions causes the UI to respond unusually. Using the Alt. Dimensions on the bar chart would result in the UI breaking and displaying bars and bar values in an obstructive way.

The first dimension label on x-axis showing only ellipsis. Dimension values that are at the start of your bar chart would be ellipsed ( ... ) instead of presenting the value name. Here we have implemented a new property called Axis Padding. Similar to how it behaved in the line chart, this will add padding to the Y or X-Axis depending on your setup.

Percentage type Number format representation is incorrect when enabling 100% stacked Bars Whether you are using the context menu or property panel to change the bar chart to be 100% stacked, the number separators would not respect your defined separator.

v4.0.0 doesn't keep the Master Measure Item's specified color. We have applied a fix that will respect the color choices made in your Master Colors.

With this release we have made very big changes "behind the scenes" of the Bar Char object. The code has been updated to Angular, simplified and restructured. Apart from allowing us to fix many of the smaller bugs and issues the changes will also allow us to quicker make adjustments and changes in future versions. The performance should also be quite a bit better although we still expect to be able to improve that even further. The extension should load faster and it will more be noticeable on slower networks and in Qlik SaaS. The responsiveness is also improved.

With the bigger changes we have made very significant efforts in testing to make sure the changes stay on the back-end and are not visible to the users. However, please do (as always but perhaps a bit more carefully this time) test the extension before release on critical/sensitive environments. Some minor visual changes are also expected. See the list of items below for details.

Fixed items:

• Data values - all options are supported now correctly

• The mini chart is respecting the position and window in a better way

• Persistent colors (including dynamic colors) now work in all cases

• Selection with a mini chart correctly presents the selected items better

• All data symbols are working correctly & present a value in the correct position

• Alternative dimensions are possible in multi-measure mode

• Reference line fixes (visibility and position)

   

  Minor changes

• Default formatting (auto measure, auto format) is now common with the other Vizlib extensions Suppress zero value is respected in all cases.

• The labels are positioned slightly differently The legend order & position.

Random occurrence of not rendering in customer app. Quickly moving between sheets would "freeze" the extension. This no longer occurs.

Export to pdf doesn't work properly for stacked bar chart. Stacked exports did not work as expected.

Performance issue. Load time in certain situations was unacceptable long. In the customer example the load was 10 times faster with this new version of the extension.

Tooltip is not displayed when custom color is enabled. When the measure had a custom color the tooltip did not display.

Scroll Preview recalculates every time you switch between sheets. The preview scroll bar recalculated when switching between sheets even if nothing had happened to warrant a refresh of the extension.

Incorrect display when having second dimension with symbol representation and Axis range changed When having the axis range set to min. They symbol would appear in the wrong place.

Alternative Measure titles are not displayed when having multiple dimensions.

When using multiple dimensions the alternative measures were not available.

Note: Please note that when upgrading from a lower version to version 4+ that the character number for the Bar Chart axis is set to 15 characters.

Context Menu Enhancements

All users can now make changes to chart display, without going into edit mode or maximizing the chart. These new capabilities will allow users to drilldown into data, highlight the data values to gain knowledge and much more.

Users are able to control these settings:

• chart type from Stacked to Grouped drilling down into the data.

• Show\Hide of values of the different measures

• Chart display: Horizontal\Vertical

• Show\Hide of Axis and Legend

Bar chart color expression was returning some undesired color in some situations. Fixed some rendering issues in QS Desktop.

Added option to define color of null bars/segments. Improved conversion from native bar chart -> vizlib bar chart.

Show Data Values was not available when the vizlib bar chart was converted from the native. Null values in 2nd dimension had a black background instead of stripes (like in 1st dimensions). When the x-axis was disabled the whole chart was not rendering properly.

Barchart bars collor was incorrect when the 1st measure was disabled via calc condition. Bar chart was disappearing when x axis was hidden.

When date values were placed at the bottom it was overlapping with the x-axis. Data handling calc condition message was not supporting expressions.

Dimension title from a Master Item dimension, was not inheriting the label attribute. When in horizontal mode, 0 values were getting cut-off.

When using symbols/markers on a measure, the tooltip was appending a text with the measure position: '/#' Data handling > Show all data was not loading all the data pages.

When the bar color in measure was set to custom, the legend tile was not getting updated. When the bar had a null value in Safari the background was white.

When the same expression was entered twice with the same label it was not identified as a new expression. Negative stack bars were not rendered properly.

The Bar Chart was not working when placed on the same sheet as the Vizlib Sankey Chart. Legend tile was not inheriting the bar opacity.

Tooltip was misplaced sometimes when the Bar Chart was embedded into an iFrame. Opacity was not applied to legend tiles for 1dim + n measures.

Bars misplacement on secondary axis when the formatting settings was changed. Corrected y/y2 axis label placement wherein sometimes it was overlapping the axis.

Dimension label was overlapping the axis sometimes on IE. Wasn't updating some data points after applying a selection on IE. Fixed visualisation issues in stack mode for null values.

In some scenarios in combination with other Vizlib Extensions, the tooltip was showing a string HTML color instead of the actual color.

When data values was enabled, some margin was added in the y-axis showing negative values on the axis despite not having negative values.
